About Sarah

Sarah Khorami is a licensed mental health counselor with a master-level credential, practicing telehealth therapy across New York and New Jersey. She founded Nami Mental Health Counseling with a singular belief: that healing is not a destination, but a rhythm one that looks different for every person.

Sarah holds a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from The City University of New York - Baruch College and has completed advanced training in trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Somatic Therapy. She has worked with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, relational conflict, life transitions, and the complex intersection of cultural identity and mental health.

Her approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply attuned. Sarah believes that the therapeutic relationship itself is a vehicle for healing and that feeling genuinely seen and understood is the foundation from which real change grows. She brings particular sensitivity to clients from South and Central Asian backgrounds, understanding firsthand the cultural nuances that shape how we experience and express emotional pain.

When she is not in session, Sarah is an avid reader, a lover of long walks, and a firm believer that a good cup of matcha can be its own form of therapy.
